Four Councillors Returned without a Vote

As there were only four nominations for the seven vacant places on Cocking Parish Council, the vote, due to be held on 7th May, will no longer go ahead.  Uncontested elections are by no means rare in small communities and the council can operate after 7th May as its quorum for meetings is a mere three councillors.

However, the number of councillors may be increased or even made up to a full complement by the co-option of extra members at a later stage.
