Possible Improvements to Playground

Written by The Editor on .

We have learned that the Parish Council has applied for grant funding for the children’s playground to cover some necessary restoration of certain features, which although maintained in accordance with annual safety audits have nevertheless deteriorated during the 21 years since the playground was opened.  In addition, several new installations are proposed, all of which promise to be very appealing to our children – and those who visit from neighbouring parishes.

The application is for £10,000 – the maximum available under this funding heading, Awards for All – which would cover nearly all of the cost.  The Council would if necessary be able to meet the small extra sum if the quotation is accepted in full.
It is unlikely that a decision will be announced before mid-January, and the proposed work would be completed within two or three months.

Update: 18 Nov - The good news is that we didn't have to wait for January.  See this article.
