Local Sculptor's work unveiled at new Wembley Stadium PDF Print E-mail

Bobby Moore StatueCocking's renowned resident sculptor, Philip Jackson is no stranger to high profile commissions and his latest work is no exception. The twice life-size bronze of famous footballer and captain of England's 1966 World Cup winning team, Bobby Moore, was unveiled today.

Resplendent in its prominent position at the entrance to the new Wembley Stadium the work was unveiled by team mate Bobby Charlton. The speeches included tributes from Prime Minister, Tony Blair, Sir Trevor Brooking and Bobby Moore's wife Stephanie.

With the 2007 FA Cup Final just around the corner, the statue will be seen by another 90,000 people soon.
