Singleton & Cocking Tunnels - Special Area of Conservation
Cocking has some rare species (The Barbastelle bat and Bechstein's bat. They live in the designated Special Area of Conservation (SAC) described on the Joint National Conservation Committee's site.

The Sussex Heritage Trust was founded in 1977 to preserve, improve and encourage the appreciation of the architectural and natural heritage of Sussex. In 2006, they presented a Public & Community award to the Cocking History Column.
