New South Downs Boundary may run through Cocking PDF Print E-mail
Saturday, 30 June 2007
New proposed boundaries have been published that exclude Midhurst, Petworth, Fernhurst, Milland, Northchapel, Petersfield and Liss from the plans for a South Downs National Park. The revised boundary, based on the inspector's recommendation, runs south around Midhurst crossing the A286 less than 200 metres north of the turning to Heyshott (Bex Lane).

Maps can be viewed on the Natural England website - click here for a link . The revised boundary is only 'indicative and will be subject to a further period of consultation assuming that the Minister decides to reopen the South Downs public inquiry in late 2007. The consultation period on that decision runs from 2nd July to 13th August 2007.
