One such is The Christmas Fair at Ditcham, which will benefit good causes including our own  Cocking Church's St. Catherine of Siena Building Fund.

Harvest Lunch at CVH

Harvest Lunch Here we see young Seth digging into his Harvest Lunch at Cocking Village Hall, at an event organised by Portia Charles and helpers on behalf of St Catherine's Church. This is the second year that the lunch has taken place.  This year the lucky diners sat down to a meal of home-made salads and superb meat, followed by a fantastic array of equally home-made sweets.

The cricket season is over, giving way as it does to football, and now tree felling.

Tree stump

Work has started again on the removal of the diseased chestnut trees surrounding the village green area at Cocking.  Two specimens at the back near Milestone Garage were removed yesterday and a team of four have started to dismantle the last two by the A286.

Dismantle is an accurate description, because instead of felling the trees by an early cut across the trunk, these experts first remove branches from the top as can be seen from the photograph below, showing a gentleman wielding a chain saw.Tree felling
