Website is 10 Years Old

Written by The Editor on .

Hail or snowCocking.org, your local website, is ten years old today.   We went online to report on the unveiling of the Cocking History Column by Lady Cowdray ten years ago yesterday, on 14th April 2005.

Many will remember the unveiling and the lunch in Manor Barn that followed.  And who can forget the freak hailstorm that created a beautiful white backdrop and stopped all the traffic up and down Cocking Hill for a while.

There was no hail on the 14th this year although there was a heavy mist hanging over the Downs in the morning.

We publish the picture of the column surrounded by hailstones again as a reminder and thank everyone who has followed Cocking events through this website over the last decade.
